Bronco Iron values craftsmanship and wants to share the art of leather belt carving. There should be no substitute for a Handmade, Saddle Stiched life long belt.

Every belt is individually crafted by hand, combining traditional leatherworking techniques with a design created specifically for you. From the selection of the hide to the final stitch, every stage is carefully carried out to create a belt built to last and develop its own character with age.

The Craft Behind Every Belt

Selecting the Leather

We begin with premium 12 oz (4.78 mm) vegetable-tanned leather, carefully selected from trusted suppliers. Each hide is inspected for quality, strength and consistency before being chosen for your belt. The leather is then precisely cut to our 1.5" belt width, before the edges are carefully bevelled and burnished to create a smooth, refined finish.

Creating Your Custom Pattern

Your belt starts with your design. Working with you, we develop a custom pattern that will become the foundation for the carved artwork on your belt. The design is carefully transferred to the leather, creating a guide for the hand-tooling process.

Hand Cutting & Carved Tooling

This is where the design truly comes to life. Using a traditional swivel knife, each line of the pattern is carefully hand-cut into the leather. The design is then individually carved and tooled by hand, creating depth, texture and definition within the leather. No two belts are exactly alike — the character of the finished piece comes from the hands that make it.

Dyeing & Leather Dressing

Once the tooling is complete, the leather is carefully dyed according to your chosen colour specification. Antique paste is then worked into the tooling to highlight the carved detail and bring depth to the design. The leather is finally treated with a protective dressing to nourish the hide and help preserve its finish.

Hand Saddle Stitching

The final stage is completed using traditional hand saddle stitching. Each stitch is made by hand, creating a strong and durable seam while adding the distinctive character of a genuinely handcrafted piece. The result is more than a belt — it is a one-of-a-kind piece of leatherwork, made specifically for you and designed to become better with age.
